A Sudbury dragon boat paddler won three gold medals in the 13th annual International Dragon Boat Festival World Championships, which ran from July 20 to 26.
While there was no dragon boat competition in Sudbury this year, Melanie Cartier, a long-time dragon boat enthusiast who has paddled in many Sudbury events won the medals at the championships, held in Sarasota, Florida.
