More than being spent $154,000 for New Horizons programs for senior citizen agencies in Sudbury
More than $154,000 in funding grants were announced this week on behalf of the federal Minister of Seniors. Sudbury MP Viviane Lapointe made the announcement on behalf of minister Kamal Khera.
The event was held at the Ukrainian Federation Hall on Frood Road, Thursday, as part of the New Horizons for Seniors Program. The event was attended by several representatives of different senior citizens' organizations in the city. "These projects will empower seniors in their community and provide them with the programs and support they deserve," Lapointe said. Lapointe said the funding program gives area seniors numerous opportunities to be involved in the community.
"Through the New Horizons for Seniors Program, the Government of Canada is providing a wide range of opportunities for seniors in Sudbury to participate in meaningful activities that nurture their personal growth and foster community vitality," Lapointe said.
