Similar tournaments were held earlier this spring and summer in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and the teams, based on their placings, were given points.All four clubs, whose rosters will be the nucleus of their respective provinces’ 2025 Canada Games teams, are gearing up for the upcoming nationals in Saskatoon, Sask., in early August.

In the semifinals, Rebekah McGeoghegan allowed only a second-inning single to pitch the Whitecaps to a lopsided win over Team N.L. She was her team’s game MVP, also scoring two runs. Chloe Arsenault and Carly Gauthier also scored two runs in the game for the Whitecaps. Chloe Moore knocked in a pair of runs for the P.E.I. squad.

“Words can’t describe how proud of the girls we are and how they conduct themselves on and off the field,’’ Ellsworth said. “In the last game, all 17 athletes got in to play and had an at-bat, and to win something on home soil in front of a great crowd, these girls will never ever forget that.”
