The MV Holiday Island, left, rests crookedly in its berth next to the MV Confederation which took over providing ferry service to Nova Scotia as of July 28. - Alison Jenkins • The GuardianCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Northumberland Ferries Ltd. has updated the ferry crossing schedule between Nova Scotia and P.E.I. following the fire aboard the MV Holiday Island one week ago.The vessel will depart from Wood Islands, P.E.I. at 7 a.m., 10 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.
The ferry will cross from Caribou, N.S. at 8:30 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 3:15 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.It will cross from Wood Islands at 8:30 and 11:45 a.m. and 3:15 and 6:30 p.m.In a release, Don Cormier, vice-president of Northumberland Ferries Ltd. said customers should make a reservation to ensure a place on their chosen sailing.Cormier noted a further update to the sailing schedule will come by the end of next week.
