Paxlovid is used to treat COVID-19. - ReutersCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — P.E.I.'s provincial health authority is urging patience as demand increases for the antiviral drug Paxlovid, which is used to treat COVID-19.
Demand for the drug is increasing amid an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases on the Island, Health P.E.I. said in a news release. The health authority said people should speak to their family doctor or nurse practitioner to find out if they should receive Paxlovid.
