Motlanthe: There is no reason not to vote LGE2021
“There is no reason not to exercise this right because, for whatever reason you may be disaffected or unhappy with the outgoing councillors, you have the right to choose the one you believe will give you proper services,” he said.He also assured journalists that he had indeed voted for the ANC. Motlanthe caused controversy inside the party a few years ago when he said the ANC need to “die first” before it can become serious about renewing itself.
The committee also introduced the community voting system, which meant that residents had the final say on who would make the candidate lists.However his work is not done yet – Motlanthe will have to work with his team to deal with the disputes that have arisen from the ANC candidate selection process.
Many regions across the country have submitted complaints about unfairness regarding candidate lists.Once the party has resolved these disputes, it may result in a number of councillors having to resign to make way for those who are rightfully supposed to occupy these positions.
