LGE2021 | Minor incidents in Mpumalanga, but voting goes smoothly

There were ephemeral marches in Vaalbank in the Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality in Siyabuswa and Ermelo, and in Mkhondo Local Municipality ward 13, according to provincial Electoral Commission of SA spokesperson Thanduxolo Chembeni.

In Mkhondo, voters were complaining about a ward boundary that was changed by the Municipal Demarcation Board. “We started very well, all voting stations opened at 7am; except for these few minor incidents,” he added. DA leader Jane Sithole only complained about the low voter turn-out, and about some voting stations where ballot papers had arrived late, but everything was resolved.
