SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Brady Burns scored twice and added an assist to lead the Saint John Sea Dogs to a 7-4 victory over the Charlottetown Islanders on Oct.

The Sea Dogs improved to 2-1-0-0 early in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season, and the Islanders dropped to 1-1-0-0.

The Islanders host the Halifax Mooseheads in their home opener at Eastlink Centre on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. The Islanders remain home to face the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in a Thanksgiving Day matinee on Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. Before 2,075 spectators to TD Station, Peter Reynolds , Cole Burbidge, Jared Cosman, Vincent Despont and Cam MacDonald also scored for the host Sea Dogs.Michael Horth scored twice for the Islanders while Giovanni Morneau and Jakub Brabenec each contributed a goal and an assist. Patrick LeBlanc , Owen Hollingsworth, Alexis Michaud, Keiran Gallant, and Marcus Kearsey added helpers.Overall, the Islanders held a slight 37-36 shots-on-goal advantage.
