'WASPI women are sick and tired of the Prime Minister hiding behind an Ombudsman’s investigation that has now been going on for five years'

Campaigners for the Women Against State Pension Inequality have been left outraged after claims that the Prime Minister 'refused to meet' with representatives to discuss the impact of State Pension age changes on millions of women.

The Government watchdog is due to soon conclude its review into the way the changes were communicated, which could recommend an award of compensation. Last month an open letter signed by around 50,000 women was delivered to Downing Street calling for Rishi Sunak to 'deliver fast, fair compensation for WASPI women' and to meet with them and 'explore the options for compensation'.

"The least the Prime Minister or his ministerial team could do is to listen to concerns especially at a time when the cost of living crisis is taking its toll on women and their families in our city." "We have recently reached the sad and shocking national milestone of 250,000 women dying without getting justice. WASPI women are sick and tired of the Prime Minister hiding behind an Ombudsman’s investigation that has now been going on for five years."
