The United People of Canada, the group renting the St. Brigid’s church site, said they did not intend to leave despite attempts to evict them

The property owner has hired Cease Bailiff Services to get TUPOC supporters off the property, saying that the group owes $10,000 in rent, failed to provide proof of liability insurance and was performing unauthorized construction at the church, which is a heritage building.

“Our main concern today is that the artists and area residents are comfortable and not being obstructed,” said the company. “TUPOC still refuse to vacate. They’re not honouring the owner’s rights.”
