The engineer will also be expected to contribute to the development and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting processes. Furthermore, they will actively participate in identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance system performance, security, and scalability.\The core responsibilities of this role encompass the comprehensive management and support of our IT systems. The Systems Engineer will be primarily focused on the administration and support of our Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring its optimal performance, security, and integration with other systems. They will be actively involved in the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of VMware virtual environments, maintaining the stability and efficiency of our virtualized infrastructure. The role will also involve the administration of Cisco UCS servers and related infrastructure components, ensuring their proper functioning and compliance with established security and performance standards. Furthermore, the Systems Engineer will provide support for Mimecast email security and archiving solutions, handling tasks related to email management, security, and archiving to maintain a secure and compliant email environment. A critical aspect of the role is the proactive monitoring of system health, performance, and capacity, employing various monitoring tools and techniques to identify and address potential issues before they impact business operations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating and maintaining clear, accurate, and up-to-date documentation on system configurations, standard operational procedures, and troubleshooting processes. This documentation will be essential for knowledge sharing, training, and ensuring the long-term maintainability of our IT systems.\To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a solid foundation of technical skills and experience. The essential requirement is strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, encompassing its various applications and services, as this is a core component of our IT infrastructure. Candidates must demonstrate an excellent understanding of Windows Server administration, including its configuration, management, and troubleshooting capabilities. Experience with Dell storage and backup technologies is also highly desirable, as it is a crucial component of our data management strategy. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience with technologies such as AWS or Azure, demonstrating an ability to work with cloud-based platforms. Furthermore, the ability to configure and optimize VMware virtual environments is essential. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills are required, as the role involves investigating and resolving complex technical issues while effectively communicating with colleagues and stakeholders at different levels. Formal qualifications are also essential; a minimum matriculation and relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, VMware) are required.
