Pacific FC was supposed to be a Lower Mainland-based team when the CPL was in its nascent stages five years ago, but when no suitable site could be found thepivoted to Vancouver Island, where Langford was willing and able to provide a home. Vancouver FC’s first game in its new digs won’t come until Sunday, May 7, when it hosts Calgary-based Cavalry FC.
