Residents of Soshanguve have expressed frustration at the failure of the City of Tshwane to dispatch water tankers to their area which has been without them since Wednesday.November 9, 2024
“Almost five days without water. All these people you are seeing here arrived at 06:00. I got here at 04:00 but we still haven’t received water. You see how long that is. We are running a car wash business, so the business is stuck. You can’t flush the toilet; you can’t do anything without water.” Meanwhile, Tshwane Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya says she has personally reached out to the Chairperson of Rand Water to stress the urgency of this water crisis and the immediate need for a resolution.
“We are deeply sensitive to the profound impact these water shortages are having on the residents of Tshwane. Addressing this crisis is our top priority, and we are utilising all available resources and avenues to resolve it as swiftly as possible,” adds Moya.“We extend our sincerest apologies for the distress this situation has caused. Water is life, and ensuring a reliable supply to our residents is a fundamental duty of the City’s leadership, both political and administrative.
