Liverpool are pushing hard to make their first major signing of the summer transfer window with Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi shortlisted as the top priority target by Arne Slot. The Spaniard has been on the radar of several clubs ahead of the new campaign after impressing for his national side in the second half of the Euro 2024 final.
This allows for the cash flow to be managed better and Financial Fair Play responsibilities to be adhered to. Therefore, Liverpool are looking to negotiate a better deal with the La Liga side which would be more manageable for the finances. From the La Liga club's perspective, they have been attempting to carry on with business as usual in terms of integrating Zubimendi into their pre-season plans.
