Xabi Alonso appears to have given Liverpool a huge boost to their hopes of signing Martin Zubimendi. The 25-year-old suddenly emerged as a target for the Reds earlier this week as Arne Slot looks to bolster his midfield . Last season, Zubimendi featured 31 times for Real Sociedad in La Liga, scoring four goals and providing one assist. Playing a key role in Imanol Alguacil's side, he helped the Spanish outfit finish sixth and secure Europa League qualification.
