The overage forward scored twice, including the game-winner, to lead the Eagles to a 2-1 victory over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre. Johnston opened the scoring early in the first period with his 23rd goal of the season at 1:15, before notching the eventual deciding goal at 1:02 of the third period for his 24th of the campaign.Cape Breton’s Oliver Satny made 25 saves. Acadie-Bathurst’s Joshua Fleming stopped 39 of 41 shots.
The Eagles outshot the Titan 41-26 while going 0-for-3 on the power play. Acadie-Bathurst was 1-for-6 with the man-advantage. Cape Breton will be back on home ice on Friday when they host the Rimouski Oceanic.
