A P.E.I. man who hit a curb while driving his motor vehicle under the influence of methamphetamine has been sentenced to jail time.

On Oct. 2, 2021, at around 12:42 a.m., an off-duty police officer driving on Route 1 in Stratford saw a motor vehicle wandering back and forth in its lane, then strike a curb at an intersection and continue driving, said Crown attorney Lisa Goulden. On-duty police officers were called and pulled over the vehicle driven by MacDonald.
The results of MacDonald's drug analysis were 576 nanograms of methamphetamine per 100 millilitres of blood. It is a criminal offence to have any amount of methamphetamine in a person's system while driving.
