An updated list of all roadworks affecting motorways and trunk roads has been published by National Highways this week
Lancashire motorists are being urged to plan ahead with roadworks due to take place on major roads and motorways across our county.
Maintenance schemes taking place across Lancashire this week include the ongoing bridge repairs on the M6 near Preston, resurfacing between Leyland and Shevington and carriageway repairs on the A56 near Rawtenstall. Here’s the full list of ongoing repairs and road works and when they will be taking place this week.
Work will happen from Monday to Friday from 8pm to 6am , and until January 27, 2023, and will entail the total closure of the A56 and M66 southbound carriageway between A56/A680/B6527 and junction 1 of the M66. However, there will be no work from December 22 to January 3 due to the festive period.Work is ongoing to resurface the carriageway between junction 27 and junction 28 on the M6. The resurfacing is expected to continue until December 19.
