When snow and sleet will next hit Lancashire as cold weather alert issued
Snow and sleet are set to hit parts of Lancashire again this week as warnings of severe cold weather and icy conditions have been extended.
Across Lancashire, forecasters said sunny days but low temperatures would arrive in some parts mid week. However, the weekend could see light snow in Burnley on Saturday, while rain, hail, sleet and snow could also feature in places from Blackpool to Blackburn. Morecambe, Lancaster and West Lancashire.
Burnley There will be cloud in Burnley today , followed by sunny skies on Monday, cloud on Tuesday, Sunshine on Wednesday and Thursday followed by cloudy skies on Friday. However, the cloudy skies on Saturday will give way to light snow by night time in Burnley. Morecambe Sunshine today will give way to clouds, but there’ll be sunshine tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday, when the lowest temperatures will be -4C. Tuesday, Friday and Saturday will be cloudy. Friday brings a 10 percent chance of rain, sleet, snow, hail or drizzle, and Saturday a 20 per cent one.
In the North West, freezing fog today will give way to some sunshine with a ‘low chance of a wintry flurry’ while maximum temperatures will reach 3C.
