A pivotal moment came at the end of the third quarter. After D.C. scored to close the lead to 26-20, the Defenders were penalized on the ensuing kickoff for not kicking the ball inside Arlington’s 20-yard-line. Arlington took over on D.C.’s 30 and on the next play scored on a Perez pass to running back Leddie Brown to make it 32-20.
