Johannesburg’s temperamental water supply system is slowly stabilising after reaching a critical shortage on 6 November.
Key water reservoirs in Johannesburg have started to recover as Rand Water resumed full-capacity pumping.
“The Erand 1 reservoir capacity also improved overnight, and we have started pumping into the Erand tower this morning, JW spokesperson Nombuso Shabalala said on Thursday. JW says it will continue to provide alternative water sources to these areas until full restoration happens.JW confirmed that the water outage would affect all streets within Meadowlands extensions 1 to 12, parts of Orlando West, Dube, Mofolo North and Central, as well as Tshepo Themba Hospital, Meadowlands Hostel, and Dube Hostel.Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Catherine, Princess of Wales will both attend events to commemorate British war dead this weekend.
