Adriane Carr wants up to $1 donated for each Vancouver residents towards a West Coast Environmental Law anti\u002Dfossil fuel campaign

on Tuesday, Carr is asking her fellow councillors to direct staff to include in the draft 2023 operating budget “an amount of up to $1 per Vancouver resident to support West Coast Environmental Law’s class action lawsuit against fossil fuel companies.”

Last month, the Vancouver-based WCEL launched a campaign called “Sue Big Oil” to encourage municipalities to offer up to $1 per resident for a class action against the world’s largest fossil-fuel companies that it claims are responsible for the majority of carbon emissions worldwide.
