Four teenagers were thrown from a car and a fifth had to be cut free from the vehicle after it smashed into a tree. The five males are in hospital with serious injuries following the collision in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, on Sunday night. Police Scotland said the black Vauxhall Astra appeared to lose control and struck the tree at around 8.55pm.
' Police Scotland said the 18-year-old driver and two passengers, aged 17 and 18, were taken to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. A 16-year-old passenger was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, while a 15-year-old passenger was transferred to the city's Royal Hospital for Children.
