The UNIA is a movement toward Black pride and racial equality founded by Marcus in Jamaica on July 15, 1914. "He had a fantastic personality," Brewster recalled."He was easy to talk to. That's what I liked about him."The keynote speaker at an Emancipation Day event being held at the UNIA Cultural Centre on August 22, Julius will speak about his father and continuing his work. The author of"In My Father's Footsteps" will also be answering questions.
