The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the Deer Lake Fire Department reported that Kyle Squires, 25, was seen pouring gasoline over areas of the occupied home just after 7 a.m.,The inside of the home also had smoke damage. Police and police dogs responded to the incident. Police dog Thor and his handler tracked Squires to his residence and arrested him.
He is facing charges of arson – disregard for human life, arson – damage to property, uttering threats against property and mischief over $5,000.
