Parkland Fuels Corporation has yet to start work on former Cudmore's Ultramar
Work on renovating the former Cudmore’s Ultramar on Great George Street in Charlottetown was supposed to have started last spring. Deputy Mayor Alanna Jankov said the corporation that owns the property must begin work by May or lose its permit. - Dave Stewart/SaltWire NetworkCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Charlottetown’s deputy mayor says a corporation that is proposing to convert the former Cudmore’s Ultramar into a new gas station and convenience store has until May to get to work.
A permit was issued in May for the former site of Cudmore’s Ultramar on Great George Street. Work was supposed to have started last spring. In February 2022, city council approved some variance changes to the property that will allow Parkland to reopen the business under its new plans.At one time, there were four gas stations within sight of each other on Great George Street, Euston Street and University Avenue.
Jankov said the city is eager to see the property back in use as a service station or developed into a different commercial space.
