Coca-Cola Christmas truck still not welcome in Cumbria says health boss who took a stand five years ago
The world-famous Coca-Cola Christmas truck still isn't welcome in Cumbria, according to the councillor who banned the beverage wagon from the county five years ago.
But in 2017, director of public health for Cumbria Colin Cox and the leader of Cumbria County Council, Stewart Young, penned an open letter criticising the advertising campaign. It stated the tour would not be welcome in Cumbria on the grounds it promotes sugary drinks to young children. The truck first appeared in Coca Cola's famous 'Holidays Are Coming' advert 26 years ago and has become a festive sight ever since.
