Staff still in fact-finding mode, possible launch this fall
The City of Charlottetown is considering introducing a downtown parking rebate program that could be brought in later this year. Dave Stewart/The GuardianCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Staff with the City of Charlottetown is continuing to look into a program that would allow people who receive parking tickets in the downtown to void the fines.
Rivard said people in Halifax who receive a parking fine can void their tickets if they spend a certain dollar amount at local business.Laura Wright, who works with the City of Halifax’s public affairs office, told SaltWire Network on June 15 that the program is in place until Sept. 30 and requires a $35 purchase at a business in order to void the ticket.
