And in a job when seconds can mean the difference between life and death, a team of Cape Breton firefighters proved they are up to the challenge.
held in Amherst, N.S. Together, they combined to win four gold and two silver medals at the event, which tests the fitness of firefighters through multiple stages.
Cape Breton Regional Fire Service firefighters took home several medals at the FireFit Championships held in Amherst, N.S., this weekend. McIsaac said being a career firefighter can be physically challenging, so he makes an effort to stay active.
