“As a parent myself, I know that, if children and young adults are given learning opportunities, the battle with drugs can be won.” Of the estimated 269 million people, approximately 60 million lived in Africa. With the most population growth, as well as drug use, expected to occur on the continent, the number of Africans who used drugs was projected to increase by 38% by 2030.
Mtolo says the fight against substance abuse is key to protecting the health and welfare of of the country’s citizens.“The impact of alcohol and narcotics continues to ravage families, communities and society.”The dashboard of the substance abuse helpline shows that the most common drugs used in Gauteng are crystal methamphetamine and nyaope.
