They will join the 20 that have already reopened in the last few weeks
Poundland today confirmed another tranche of former Wilko stores will be reopened as Poundland stores this weekend. In addition to the 20 former Wilko stores it had already opened as a Poundland, the discount retailer today confirmed that another nine stores would open their doors this coming weekend.
The extended clothing range, which sees Poundland offer more kidswear than before, also features new licensed products including Harry Potter, Gremlins, Tom& Jerry and the Moomins, alongside popular Disney, Warner & Star Wars ranges. In Bicester, Poundland will close its smaller store at Sheep Street to relocate to the larger former Wilko store capable of offering Poundland’s widest ranges of clothing, homewares and groceries.
Poundland’s retail director Darren Kay said: “We’re moving at pace because we know how important opening these stores are to local communities. “While stores will get more extensive refits in next year, we’re proud that another nine former Wilko stores will begin their Poundland journeys this coming weekend.”
