Free State Emergency Medical Services warns of increased risks during the festive season due to heavy traffic and potential accidents. They urge drivers to be cautious and avoid distractions.
Free State Emergency Medical Services says work during the festive season can be difficult and challenging. The area experiences heavy traffic at this time of year when people transit through it to their holiday destinations. The unit’s personnel say they are on standby and ready for any crashes that may occur. Since the beginning of the festive season , more than 23 road fatalities have been reported in the province.
Drivers who are driving under the influence and those driving while chatting and other things on their cellphones such things, they cause many road accidents especially in our national roads. And fatigue also plays a role in our roads, says one of the emergency medical service personnel. We must make sure that when we call control centre, we speak (about) what is happening at the time. And the truth because the more we try to make a statement that is false we denied another emergency is in need of the service to get the ambulance, says another emergency medical service personnel
