Lionsgate has released the first glimpses of the film adaptation of the video game series Borderlands and Cate Blanchett looks ready to kick serious ass with a head of fiery red hair. Blanchett's character, Lilith, is one of the main Vault Hunters. It appears the film will dive deeper into her backstory than the games have, but reportedly Lilith makes a 'homecoming to her planet Pandora in order to search for the missing daughter of Atlas'.

Filming began in April 2021 in Hungary and wrapped in June. Jamie Lee Curtis gave fans of the gaming franchise a sneak peak as early as 2021 when she posted a cryptic shot of Blancett as Lilith. "Welcome to BORDERLANDS and a secret BTS shot I took of Lilith, our legendary heroine, psycho blasting, vault hunting, vixen with a bad attitude and two Oscars to add to the baddasery in her tool belt.
