Lekkerimaki, taken 15th overall at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft last month, is one of five first-round picks from that draft lining up at forward for the Tre Kronor. Add in Lucas Raymond and Alexander Holtz and this is a talented group dead set on rebounding from a disappointing 2021 tournament, in which Sweden lost 3-2 to archrival Finland in the first round of the knockout stage.Article content
Lekkerimaki, for his part, is expected to contribute. The 5-foot-11, 172-pound right-shot winger had 21 points in 12 games playing for the U18 squad in 2021-22.
