BREAKING! Banyana Banyana have advanced to Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final after defeating Zambia 1-0 on Monday night. SLInt MORE:
Melinda Kgadieta was restored to the Banyana line-up after starting on the bench against Tunisia, with Mapula Kgoale dropping to the bench.
Banyana, meanwhile, struggled to make any forays into the Zambian final third in open play and as a result, struggled to force any serious saves out of goalkeeper Catherine Musonda. Desiree Ellis opted for a double change at the start of the second half, with Kgoale and Hildah Magaia replacing Thalea Smidt and Kgadiete.
With extra-time looming, Bafana nearly found the breakthrough as Magaia exchanged pass with Jermaine Seoposenwe before seeing her close-range strike tipped away by Musonda.
