Helman Mkhalele's charges redeemed themselves in the Plate semi-finals after edging Madagascar 2-1 on Friday thanks to goals by Keletso Sifama and Chumani Butsaka.In contrast, Botswana went through the group stages of the tournament and qualified for the quarter-finals after winning all their three games in the section.
However, the Zebras lost in the last eight of the tournament proper against Zambia on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time. Botswana also redeemed themselves in the Plate section after beating Eswatini 2-0 on Friday to setup a meeting with Bafana.
