Lisa Driscoll, 43, must abide by court orders, including one banning her from working or volunteering in the health-care sector or any health-care facility

Lisa Driscoll, accused of using stolen nursing credentials to get jobs at long-term care facilitiies in St. John's and Gander and stealing prescription medication from residents, appears in provincial court in St. John's Wednesday, Jan. 25. TARA BRADBURY/THE TELEGRAMST. JOHN'S, N.L. — A woman accused of using stolen nursing credentials to get jobs at long-term care facilities in Gander and the St. John’s area was released from custody Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 25.

Instead of proceeding with a scheduled bail hearing, the Crown consented to Driscoll’s release with an agreement that she pledge $1,500, that two people serving as her sureties pledge a total of $1,600, and that she abide by a list of conditions. Among the conditions are that Driscoll must reside at a particular St. John’s address and not leave the province, report weekly in person to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, and not possess, consume or traffic in any illegal substance.

Driscoll indicated she understood the orders and agreed to follow them. Her next court date in St. John’s is scheduled for March 8. The charges were laid after a police investigation that began last June with a report from a St. John’s long-term care facility alleging a fraud involving Driscoll, who was working there. Investigators subsequently discovered other instances in which Driscoll had allegedly obtained nursing positions in care homes in the metro area, allegedly using at least four different surnames.
