It was not as if Terry Paul was exactly an unknown before the Clearwater Seafoods deal.
To suddenly become one of the biggest players in the East Coast fishery, Paul said, has been “mind-boggling” and two years later is “still sinking in.” It has also ensured Paulmcontinues to be in demand as a keynote speaker at conferences, sometimes on subjects and issues that he admits to knowing nothing about.
The success of this approach means that more potential deals than ever before are suddenly coming across his desk. The mail is welcome. During our conversation, Paul also mentioned Membertou’s increased involvement in Novaporte, a deep-water, multi-use port on 500 acres around the Sydney waterfront. and his excitement over the community’s involvement in another green energy initiative—electrified lobster boats for the inshore fleet—which in time it hopes to make commercially viable.
