The Yarmouth Justice Centre. TINA COMEAU PHOTO - Tina ComeauYARMOUTH, NS – A man who was inside the Yarmouth County home the night Colton Cook was killed in September 2020 told a Supreme Court jury trial that the 26-year-old “never had a chance.”
Late in the evening of Sept. 25, 2020, Cook arrived at the residence. Siscoe said he wasn’t expected, and that he didn’t personally know Cook, but he invited him inside. He said Cook inquired about the whereabouts of"his wifey" when he arrived. During questioning by the Crown, Siscoe said he doesn’t know what woke him after he had passed out, but did say, “I didn’t hear the bang.” He was referring to the fact Cook was shot that night, allegedly by Rogers. He did, however, hear Cook screaming.
Siscoe testified that after Rogers finished, Crawford also jumped on Cook and started stabbing him in the chest area with a knife. Siscoe said when his dad arrived, Rogers and Crawford talked and acted like it was any other day. “It didn’t seem like they cared,” he said. He noted Siscoe hadn’t given the same level of detail to the police then compared to his court testimony, and that he had lied to the police about some things as well.The defence also questioned Siscoe’s memory, saying it would have been fresher at the time of the events than now, over two years later. Siscoe admitted he has issues with his memory, but said he does remember the details of that night.
