Ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Siyabonga Ngezana guaranteed a place in the 2024/25 Uefa Champions League race after his team won the Romanian league.

The 26-year-old player, who had moved toin the last season, played a vital role in his team’s championship victory in the Romanian SuperLiga 2021. The team’s win marks the end of a nine-year championship drought, and the victory could open up new opportunities for former Chiefs star Ngezana to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
In a crucial match held at the National Stadium in Bucharest against FCV Farul Constanta, FCSB won 2-1. Ngezana played the full 90 minutes and his solid performance helped his team clinch the elusive 27th league crown. When Ngezana first joined the club from Kaizer Chiefs, he found the going tough in the first months or so. However, after some time, he found his footing and became one of the team’s reliable players, cementing his place in the first team.
The Kaizer Chiefs academy product has been in sublime form for his new team. He has played over 30 games, keeping a total of 14 clean sheets as he helped his side to a league triumph.In September, FCBS president Gigi Becali expressed his willingness to sell the former Chiefs player for 7 million euros. Recentlyemerged that the Ligue 1 outfit FC Lorient was keen to sign Ngezana and had offered €5 million .
If the Romanian giants qualify for the Champions League, the former Chiefs defender might be willing to stay. He has so far impressed and he might feel like another year in Romania might improve his career.Ngezana could be among the few ex-Chiefs players in the UEFA Champions League.
