Let's break down where the smoke is, where it's headed, when it will finally end and how to stay safe if you're in an at-risk area.The worst air quality this morning continues to impact a broad area from the northern mid-Atlantic to parts of New York and western New England, including the New York City to Washington, D.C., corridor. Air quality in these areas is in theUnhealthy air is also impacting parts of the Great Lakes region.
Smoke will continue to impact air quality in parts of the eastern states over at least the next day or so since the weather pattern has changed little. Levels in Syracuse, New York, parts of eastern Pennsylvania and other locations across the Northeast topped 500 at times on Wednesday.
