Why do you think you’re the best person to represent your ward?
Wilson Lo: “Having managed councillor inquiries for OC Transpo for two years and operated buses for seven years before that, I have the best experience and expertise for road and transit concerns. I live here and plan to raise a family here, so there’s personal interest to make our community even better.”
Kathleen Caught: “There is an increase in safety issues. Consideration of traffic cameras to assist with speeding concerns and traffic calming options are potential. Neighbourhood Watch could assist in reducing the more obvious instances of cars and personal belongings being stolen. Neighbourhood Watch has been shown to decrease crime rates from 16 to 26 per cent, lowering the opportunity for crime and simultaneously reassuring residents.
Richard Garrick: “The issue I hear about most is crime. Crime rates in Barrhaven have been rising and we need to get them under control. Speeding, loud cars, vandalism and thefts have left residents frustrated, angry and worried. Our once quiet streets have become race tracks and cars are being stolen and vandalized.
