A yellow weather warning is in place from 9am on Wednesday, August 21 until 3pm on Thursday - it comes after Ernesto ripped through the North Atlantic this week, with maximum winds of 85mph.
Heavy rain and winds are set to hit Greater Glasgow in the coming days as the 'remnants' of Hurricane Ernesto batter parts of the UK.
The Met Office says the warning comes with a chance of travel disruption and dangerous conditions near coastal areas. “Gusty winds will accompany the rain, with 50-60mph possible near Irish Sea coasts and the west of Scotland. Coupled with spring tides, this could lead to some dangerous coastal conditions before winds gradually ease later on Thursday.”
