The South African Weather Service has increased the weather warning to a level 10, which is the highest warning to be issued, for some coastal areas in KwaZulu-Natal. | WitnessKZN
The weather office said the widespread showers and thundershowers are expected across KZN as a result of a cut-off low associated with a surface high pushing in moisture over the eastern parts of the country.
“Considering the vulnerability of some of these areas, these conditions will result in severe impacts over the eastern parts of KZN [on Saturday and Sunday],” said Saws. The weather office said residents can expect widespread flooding of roads and, danger to life due to fast-flowing streams, displacement of affected communities, mudslides, rockfalls and soil erosion.
