WC Grade R applications and school transfer applications are now open and parents are urged to apply sooner rather than later.
WC Grade R applications and school transfer applications opened on Thursday, 1 August 2024. The on-time application window will close on 16 August 2024.For admission to Grade R, a child must turn six years old in the year that the child starts the grade.Education Department , parents or caregivers must complete the WCED application form. This form is available for download on WCED’s website.. Those who have not registered on the online system before must first register on the website.
Applicants should apply to at least three schools and indicate their order of preference when applying. These schools should include those closest to the child’s home.Parents must submit transfer applications for Grades 2 to 7 and Grades 9 and 12 at the school they wish to apply to. Alternatively, they can also submit the application at theirSchools are currently finalising their admission lists for Grades 1 and 8 applications and confirming placements for children on their waiting lists.
This process is ongoing. Parents and caregivers who have not yet applied for Grade 1 and Grade 8 for the 2025 school year, should do so immediately. They can do so by contacting their district office or calling 0861 819 919 for more information. Online applications can be submitted
