The IKOK Sonoda competed in the International Karate Organisation (IKO) Matsushima Tournament for junior and senior fighters on Saturday to sustain their winning streak.

Gando started partaking in water polo in Grade Five at St Dominic’s Catholic School for Girls. Because of her perseverance and love for the sport, she won a scholarship to Crawford International Lonehill in Sandton where she made her mark. “From the moment I began playing, water polo became everything and more to me. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever anticipate I would be representing my country in the ladies team for a sport I love.”
