“I think Beers has very good for awhile, but it feels like he’s even more consistent this year,” says Colorado coach Pat Coyle

This story isn’t brought to you by the Committee To Get Matt Beers Award Recognition, although it may seem that way.

He was equal parts crafty and fiery. It’s not unheard of for a player to score seven goals in a game; Coyle never scored more than seven goals in a season from 1996-2002 with the Coquitlam Adanacs and yet made the first or second all-star in the Western Lacrosse Association each year. Vancouver still has considerable work to do to become a legitimate contender but they’re trending in the right direction, particularly after last year’s 2-16 campaign. Beers sets their tone with his intensity and physicality.

“I think Beers has very good for awhile, but it feels like he’s even more consistent this year,” Coyle explained.
