While Josh Norris made his long-awaited return to game action, Smith left some questions in the air as to why fellow forward Mathieu Joseph didn’t join him. Joseph hasn’t played since Dec. 9 due to an undisclosed lower-body injury. The coach made it clear that Joseph could play, but was, in fact, a healthy scratch.
Stutzle, who celebrated his 21st birthday on Sunday, has also hit the two-year anniversary of his NHL debut in 2021 and the growth of his game — offensively and defensively — has been impressive.
