MORE than 100 speeding offences have been detected every day since new 40mph average speed cameras were installed on the M8 at Glasgow.Amey is carrying out “essential resurfacing” on behalf of Transport Scotland on the M8 eastbound, which includes the M80 off-slip road at junction 1.
“Regrettably, 745 offences have been detected in the first week, with some motorists travelling at speeds of 70mph through the area, which is unacceptable. Safety Cameras Scotland said there is visible signage in place advising motorists that there are temporary speed restrictions and that average speed cameras are in enforcement.
