When the Cromie family owned The Sun in the 1930s, 40s and 50s, the paper was always doing streetcar ads like this. One declares “There’s More News in the Sun,” another advertises “The Romance of Vancouver,” a 1940 local history series written by Alan Morley. Some are in rough shape, especially the ones in the floors. That would be A.H. Timms, the brother of Philip Timms, the great photographer of early Vancouver.
